Later that afternoon, four learners who have been taught to ring at St Giles’ were elected as members of the Guild: Sophie Kovarik, Philippa Adrych, Paulina Fishman, and Ella Bentin, who was also one of the striking competition team. Fundraising for Project 900

We have started the process of the first stage of building works associated with Project 900. Three architects have been contacted so that we can get their estimate for the renewing the roof of the north aisle where the kitchen and toilet are situated. The architects will be visiting the church next week.

Once they have submitted their estimate, we will be applying for a Heritage Lottery Fund grant for the work that is to be carried out. However, this will be only one of several applications for funding for this phase of the works. Hence, we now need a team of people to help with the fundraising for Project 900.

So far three people have volunteered, namely Andy Lewin, Jean Darke and Tim Myatt. Ideally, I would like to have a team of between six to eight people researching how we might raise funds for the three aspects of Project 900, namely: 1) the kitchen roof, 2) the organ 3) the rooms in the tower and over the kitchen. Please let me know if you would like to join the team that will be looking after the fundraising.

Yours,

Andrew.
