Gatehouse 2017 calendar: The Gatehouse calendar – a new venture from their Wednesday Art Group – is now available at £5. There is a sample copy in church. Please see Margaret Williamson if you would like to buy one.

St Giles’ Parish News: The January newsletter is available in church today. If you would like to contribute something to the February edition, please send it to secretary@st-giles-church.org by 22nd January.

Evening Prayer: Evening Prayer will be said in church at 5:30 pm as usual on 2nd January 2017 (normal weekly pattern resumes from 3rd January.)

Taizé: Taizé services will resume on Friday 6th January at 1:15 pm. All are very welcome to attend.

The Epiphany: There will be a Eucharist with hymns to celebrate The Epiphany on Friday 6th January – 8:00 pm at St Margaret’s.

Services next Sunday, 8th January 2017 (The Baptism of Christ): 8:00 – Holy Communion (BCP); 10:30 am – Holy Communion; 6:30 pm – Evensong.

Notices for 11th December

NOTICES

The Gatehouse: As usual, there is a collection box at the back of St Giles’ for gifts of gloves, hats, scarves, socks, pants and chocolate. The Gatehouse hope to give out around 100 Christmas parcels this year, each one having a set of the items mentioned above. They will be very grateful to receive any donations in time for their wrapping party on 14th December.

Toy Collection: The collection will close on Sunday 11th December, as the Salvation Army need the donations by 13th December.

Decorating the church: We will be decorating the church from 4 pm onwards on Wednesday 14th December. All volunteers will be most welcome!

Correction to Toy appeal notice

NOTICES…. Correction

Christmas Toys and Games Collection: Once again we are hoping to collect new or homemade toys, games, books etc for children (babies to teenagers) for distribution by the Salvation Army to needy homes in Oxford. There will be a basket at the back of the church for unwrapped gifts on each Sunday up to 11th December. (The Salvation Army needs them by the 13th December.) Any donations will be most welcome. Last year the Salvation Army made up over 100 parcels from all donations in Oxford.
