Chapel Service at OCMS, Woodstock Road: 9:30 am, Wednesday 30th November. All welcome.

St Giles’Lunchtime Talk: 12:30 pm on Thursday 1st December. The Incarnation: Love Embodied. Speaker: Revd Stuart Brand.

Cocoa and Compline: Thursday 1st December, 9:30 pm at St Giles’. All welcome. (This is the last Cocoa and Compline until next year.)

Christmas Toys and Games Collection: Once again we are hoping to collect new or homemade toys, games, books etc for children (babies to teenagers) for distribution by the Salvation Army to needy homes in Oxford. There will be a basket at the back of the church for unwrapped gifts on each Sunday up to 18th December. Any donations will be most welcome. Last year the Salvation Army made up over 100 parcels from all donations in Oxford.

Eye-Witness: Stories from the West Bank and Israel: 7:30 pm at the Friends’ Meeting House, OX1 3LW, on Friday 2nd December. Admission Free.

Jazz at St Giles’: Brickwork Lizards play exotic Turko/Arabian/bebop/hip hop. Saturday 3rd December at 7:30 pm. Tickets at the door: £12/£10 concessions/£5 students and children.

Next Sunday – 4th December, Second Sunday of Advent: 8 am – BCP Holy Communion; 10:30 am –Holy Communion; 6:30 pm – Evensong.

Mary Stanley – 7th December 2:00 pm – There will be a funeral service for Mary Stanley in St Giles.

Notices for Sunday 6th November

Project 900:In 2020, St Giles’ will be celebrating its 900th Anniversary and we want to make this a special year in the life of the church. The Standing Committee has had some discussions about how we can mark the anniversary. We would now like to make sure that all members of St Giles’ have a say in the planning, and you are invited to a Congregational Meeting today after the 10:30 am service. Please stay and join us … we want everyone to be involved.
