Charlotte Mendelson was born in 1972 and grew up in Oxford. Her first short story was published in New Writing 7 and broadcast on Radio 4. Her first novel was Love in Idleness; her second, Daughters of Jerusalem, won the Somerset Maugham award. She is a publisher and lives in London with her family.
