Hester
Crombie began studying the piano aged four in Staffordshire, taking up the
violin at 9 and attended the Birmingham Conservatoire Junior School until 1999.
She went on to read Chemistry at University College, Oxford, where she continued
to study the piano with Raymond Fischer, gaining the LRSM diploma in piano
performance. Since graduating in 2003 she has performed regularly in and around
Oxford, both as a soloist and with singers and instrumentalists, including a
number of works for piano duet with Elspeth Wyllie. She also teaches the piano
privately and at St Barnabas Primary School.
She is looking forward to beginning her studies at the Royal Academy of Music
in September, where she will be studying piano accompaniment with Clifford
Benson.
